DAVID MORALES IS RUNNING FOR MAYOR

TO DELIVER A PROVIDENCE FOR ALL

MEETING THE MOMENT

Today, Providence is the least affordable city in America for renters, and costs are skyrocketing for everyone. Property taxes continue to rise while our schools are understaffed and we see no improvements in our public services. David will make Providence a city everyone can afford and invest the people’s money in the people’s priorities, not profit for corporate interests.

4 years ago, Brett Smiley promised to make Providence the “best run city in America”. Instead, he illegally underfunded our school budget while raising housing costs for every working family in Providence. As Mayor, his job is to serve all of us, yet his administration has issued tickets to striking workers, Providence Police were caught collaborating with ICE which has put our immigrant neighbors at risk, and he has chosen violence over care towards our homeless neighbors. Smiley has failed to deliver on his promises and meet the moment. Our city deserves a Mayor who cares about us, the people of Providence.

As Mayor, David Morales will enforce rent stabilization and freeze property tax rates on homes under $2 million. He’ll demand that the wealthiest property owners finally pay their fair share and end bad contracts so our city has resources to provide quality services to every neighborhood. He’ll repair roads in every zip code, prioritize pedestrian safety for kids and seniors, and improve transit so it’s easier to get around Providence. And, just like he’s done as a State Representative, David will stand up for our immigrant community and make Providence a city where everyone feels safe!

MEET DAVID

David has been fighting for our Providence neighbors for years. As the youngest Latino ever elected to a state legislature, David has been delivering progress for our community, inside and outside of the State House.
